The discussion process on the Draft Regulation of the Minister (“Draft Regulation”) of the Communication and Digital Affairs (“Ministry”) on Commercial Postal Services (Layanan Pos Komersial - “LPK”) is nearing completion. The Secretary-General of the Indonesian Express Delivery Service Association (Asosiasi Perusahaan Jasa Pengiriman Ekspres Indonesia - “ASPERINDO”), Tekad Sukatno revealed that he had received information on the completion of the draft regulation.
“Ministry has completed the discussion of all the substance of the regulation, which is designed as an omnibus commercial postal service. The Draft Regulation is ready to be signed,” Tekad told Hukumonline.
Regarding the substance, Tekad hopes that the new regulation will improve the delivery service climate in Indonesia. The main points concern the regulation of service tariffs and the expansion of provisions on the rights and obligations of postal operators. It is hoped that the new regulation can be implemented soon.
“Based on the information provided, hopefully there will be no changes to the timeline,” he concluded.
