The House of Representatives (DPR), together with the Government, is currently deliberating the Statistics Draft Bill (“Draft Bill”). This regulation is intended to govern the implementation of statistics in an integrated manner.
“This regulation will serve as a foundation for decision-making based on statistical data that is accurate, up-to-date, integrated, and accountable,” stated Lalu Hadrian, Deputy Chair of Commission X of the DPR RI.
The key provisions of the Statistics Draft Bill encompass five main aspects. First, ensuring legal certainty in the administration of statistics in Indonesia, covering the government, private sector, and the public. Second, guaranteeing the quality of statistical data in meeting the interests of the state and society.
Third, establishing the implementation of a national statistical system through coordination and collaboration among statistical activity organizers. Fourth, anticipating developments in science and technology that impact the administration of statistics; and fifth, enhancing statistical literacy.
