The National Food Agency (Bapanas) is currently drafting Draft Regulation of the National Food Agency (“RPerBadan”) on the Distribution of the Government Food Reserves (“Cadangan Pangan Pemerintah - CPP”) to Support National Nutrition. The drafting of this RPerBadan is intended as regulatory support for the Free Nutritious Meals (“MBG”) program in the distribution of Government Rice Reserves (Cadangan Berasa Pemerintah/CBP).
“We are preparing this regulation. The discussions have been somewhat lengthy to ensure that all SPPG [Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units] receive price certainty,” said Rachmi Widiriani, Director of Distribution and Food Reserves at the National Food Agency.
Rachmi stated that this regulation will make it easier for the Nutritional Fulfillment Service Units (Satuan Pelayanan Pemenuhan Gizi - “SPPG”) to obtain rice supplies for the MBG program at stable prices throughout the year. The regulation will include a formula that allows SPPG to acquire rice of the best quality at a capped price in accordance with the Maximum Retail Price (Harga Eceran Tertinggi - “HET”).
“The rice is premium, and they will receive it at the highest price allowed under the applicable HET,” she added.
