Government Drafts Housing and Settlement Area Draft Bill

The government is preparing a Draft Bill on Housing and Settlement Areas (“PKP”) that contains a number of strategic provisions, including provisions on Corporate Social Responsibility (“CSR”).

“The discussion of the PKP Draft Bill covers several strategic issues related to land, financing, balanced housing, and CSR,” said Minister of PKP Maruarar Sirait to Hukumonline.

Regulations on Multistory Housing Units and Subsidized Housing Units will also be harmonized to comply with applicable land management regulations. The drafting of the PKP Draft Bill will involve housing industry players and is targeted to be completed soon.

“We will immediately hold further discussions with housing associations, developers, State-Owned Enterprises (“BUMN”), and the National Housing Development Corporation (“Perumnas”) to obtain input regarding apartment regulations,” added Maruarar.
