The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) has stated that it is open to determining which commodities will be exported through a single-window system via PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia. Minister of Trade, Budi Santoso, stated that currently the government is still focused on three commodities, i.e. coal, palm oil, and ferroalloys, but he did not rule out the possibility of evaluating existing commodities.
“But that’s only if there are any changes later on. For now, it’s those three,” said Budi.
Budi explained that under the Regulation of the Government on the Management of Natural Resource Commodity Exports, there is a mechanism for evaluating commodities conducted by the Ministry of Trade. However, he noted that the evaluation can be conducted in stages. The government has set a transition period beginning in June.
The first evaluation will be conducted after the first three months of the transition period. The government emphasized that during this transition period, coordination with industry stakeholders will continue to ensure that the new export system is properly established.
