The government plans to issue licensing for industrial zone with land areas of less than 50 hectares. The plan will be included in the Draft Regulation of the Minister of Industry.
“We will issue permits for existing industrial zones that do not yet have permits and have an area of less than 50 hectares,” said Winardi, Director of Industrial Zoning at the Ministry of Industry, to Hukumonline.
Certain conditions are stipulated, including the need for the development of specific thematic industrial zones; the availability of land areas less than 50 hectares in a single plot; and/or national policies for accelerating industrial development and dissemination.
Winardi noted that the areas receiving permits include those within the Batam Development Authority and Special Economic Zones. His office plans to finalize the draft regulation this year. “As soon as possible. By the third quarter,” he said.
