Government Prepares Litigation Risk for Layoffs

The Ministry of Manpower has created a Risk Map for Termination of Employment. The map aims to prevent labor problems related to rising unemployment rates.

“The Risk Map is a living document, so it will be dynamic. We are creating it gradually. So we are starting with the industrial sector,” said Minister of Manpower Yassierli to Hukumonline.

He gave an example, stating that the government will identify contracting industries, narrowing down to specific companies. “This will serve as our guide. The next phase (of preparation) will focus on regions and provinces. Later, we will specify which industrial sectors are affected,” he said.

The Ministry of Labor will involve labor offices to issue an early warning system for companies that may terminate employment relationships.
