The Legislation Body (“Baleg”) of the House of Representatives of the Republic of Indonesia (“DPR RI”) is preparing a bill on One Data Indonesia. The regulation will be discussed this year.
“This is urgent and important, concerning data. It is already included in the National Legislation Program (Prolegnas) priority called One Data Indonesia,” said the Chairman of Baleg DPR RI, Bob Hasan, to Hukumonline.
This regulation will serve as the basis for organizing all data in Indonesia, ranging from population data, territorial boundary maps, to natural resources. The One Data Indonesia Draft Bill will also complement the Statistics Draft Bill.
“Statistics are the result of data processing. But this is a single data system that provides a more comprehensive picture. All aspects related to the welfare of the people, the nation, and the state are contained within it,” said Bob.
