House of Representatives Rushes EBET Draft Bill During Current Session

The Commission XII of the House of Representatives (“DPR”) of the Republic of Indonesia plans to resume Discussion on New and Renewable Energy (Energi Baru Terbarukan) Draft Bill (“EBET Draft Bill”) as soon as possible. According to Deputy Chair of the Commission XII Dony Maryadi Oekon, discussions on the EBET Draft Bill are scheduled for the fourth session of the DPR RI in 2024-2025.  Dony is optimistic that the EBET Draft Bill can be finalized during this session.

“We will discuss it soon. Hopefully, during this session, we will try to discuss the EBET Draft Bill in detail,” said Dony, who is also the Chair of the EBET Draft Bill Working Committee, to Hukumonline.

Dony revealed that the discussion of the EBET Draft Bill only has a few issues remaining in the Problem Inventory List (Daftar Inventarisasi Masalah/DIM). The issue of Joint Utilization of Transmission Networks (Pemanfaatan Bersama Jaringan Transmisi - “PBJT”) is the main focus that needs to be resolved. He hopes that the Commission XII of DPR RI, the Government, and PT PLN (Persero) can reach a middle ground on the PBJT discussion.

“We’ll try, okay, we’ll find a win-win solution with the government on this,” he added.
