Policies on the provision of housing, whether flats or vertical housing, require policies that are adaptive to the conditions of a region. The Head of the Settlement Planning Section of the Jakarta Provincial Government, Sapta Satria, said that currently most regulations on housing provision are still regulated at the national level, which are often not in line with the conditions of a region.
“Because many policies are approached from a national perspective and are not directly applicable to the region,” he explained.
Sapta explained the need for more flexible and varied regulations to encourage the provision of affordable housing for the community. He gave an example of financing policy, which currently lacks variety.
According to Sapta, there needs to be a variety of funding options that can accommodate the diverse needs of the community. The blended financing approach, said Sapta, is one of the plans that will be implemented, particularly for the Vertical Land Consolidation (“KTV”) program by the Jakarta Provincial Government.
