The Ministry of Marine Affairs and Fisheries (“ KKP ”) is preparing derivative regulations related to climate change mitigation. These regulations follow up on Regulation of the President No. 110 of 2025 on the Implementation of the Carbon Economic Value Instrument (Nilai Ekonomi Karbon- “ NEK ”) and the Control of National Greenhouse Gas (Gas Rumah Kaca- “ GRK ”) Emissions (“ Perpres 110/2025 ”).
“KKP will soon draft derivative regulations in response to the mandates of Article 9 and Article 37 of Perpres 110/2025, focusing on mitigation and adaptation in the marine and fisheries sectors,” said the Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries, Sakti Wahyu Trenggono.
He stated that the KKP continues to strengthen mitigation policies through the protection and rehabilitation of blue carbon, including supporting the development of low-emission capture fisheries.
Trenggono further added that he also advocates for energy efficiency at ports and the optimization of the fisheries supply chain, thereby positioning the ocean as a driver of low-carbon development.
“All of these initiatives are an integral part of the KKP’ blue economy transformation,” said Trenggono.
