The government is reviewing its policy on the Downstreaming of Marine and Fisheries Products to achieve its target of an 8 percent increase in the national economy.
“The regulation is at the ministerial level. We are focusing on upstream downstreaming, such as salt, shrimp, tilapia, and seaweed,” said Minister of Marine Affairs and Fisheries Sakti Wahyu Trenggono to Hukumonline.
The regulation will combine the pre-production, production, processing, and marketing stages. The downstream processing zone will cover the management of fish capture and/or cultivation, handling and/or processing, as well as distribution and marketing of the products.
