The Ministry of Communication and Digital ( “ Komdigi ”) has begun to conduct studies and formulate a number of regulations related to the implementation of new technologies, such asBlockchain,Machine Learning, andQuantum Computing. Acting Director of Strategy and Digital Government Policy Komdigi Teguh Arifiyadi said the special study was prepared to answer the regulatory challenges of increasingly significant technological developments.
"For the long term, what may have begun to be studied is the formulation of regulations related to new technologies . Because if we talk about AI, it is only one of many new technologies that have a significant impact on its users," said Teguh in the Elsam Forum.
According to him, the current government has shown its concern forEmerging technology .In fact, in the current organizational structure of Komdigi, a special directorate has been formed to study the use ofGenerativeAI in the application ofMachine Learning, as per the Constitutional Court (“ MK ”) Decision regarding excessive engineering or manipulation of photos/images of election participants polished using artificial intelligence technology.
"Talking about regulation, of course, this will be a long debate to determine howthe originofgenerativeAI processing is. Is it the prompt maker, the photo subject whose image is processed, or who will hold the copyright, is it the application that processes the photo," said Teguh.
