The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (“Komdigi”) is currently preparing implementing regulations for the One Data Indonesia Law (Satu Data Indonesia - “SDI”), which has been enacted by Indonesia’s House of Representatives (DPR). These regulations are necessary to ensure that the implementation of One Data Indonesia is supported by interoperability and infrastructure that enable data systems across ministries and government agencies to be interconnected in accordance with the established governance framework.
Deputy Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs (“Wamenkomdigi”) Nezar Patria stated that Komdigi is currently drafting a Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs on One Data as an implementing regulation of the SDI Law. The drafting process involves ministries and government agencies that will play a role in managing and overseeing One Data Indonesia.
“We are currently drafting a Regulation of the Minister of Communication and Digital Affairs on One Data as its implementing regulation, as this involves many ministries and government agencies that will be responsible for maintaining and overseeing One Data Indonesia,” Nezar told Hukumonline.
Based on documents obtained by Hukumonline, the SDI Law regulates One Data Indonesia governance through a master plan, architecture, data management, and the One Data Indonesia lifecycle. The regulation also establishes security standards and safeguards for government data. The national basic data will subsequently serve as the primary reference for various strategic needs, including development planning, fiscal policy and budgeting, and the distribution of social assistance.
Nezar stated that the draft regulation of the minister is currently being processed and will proceed to the public consultation stage. “It is currently being processed for submission to public consultation,” he added.
