The Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (“Komdigi”) is expected to revise regulations on digital content governance and Artificial Intelligence (“AI”) moderation. These adjustments are being made following the issuance of Regulation of the President (“Perpres”) No. 37 of 2026 on the Creative Economy Master Plan (“Rindekraf”) for 2026–2045 (“Perpres 37/2026”).

“The regulations will be issued shortly, regarding the Roadmap and the Perpres on AI Ethics, as part of efforts to synchronize the development of technology clusters for creative economy actors,” said Sonny Hendra Sudaryana, Director of Digital Ecosystem Development at the Directorate-General of Digital Ecosystems, Komdigi.

This step aims to provide legal certainty for creators who use AI technology in their creative processes. This regulatory synchronization will also align with the latest Draft Bill on Copyright, which emphasizes criteria for transparency in AI usage and documentation of the creative process (“Log AI”).
