Minister of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/Head of the National Land Agency Nusron Wahid proposed to the Coordinating Ministry for Infrastructure and Regional Development and the National Development Planning Agency to create a National Spatial Plan (Rencana Tata Ruang Wilayah Nasional/RTRWN).
"RTRWN is derived from Law No. 59 of 2024 on the National Long-Term Development Plan for 2025-2045," he said.
Nusron gave an example of the implementation of the prospective regulation. If a regency, for the sake of national investment, requires settlements and is intended for industrial downstreaming, has rice fields that are converted into residential or industrial land, then the replacement does not have to be in the local regency and can be in a similar province.
Meanwhile, if it cannot be in the same province, then it can be replaced in another province as long as it can produce food productivity.
Then the Draft Government Regulation on RTRWN will be completed in the first quarter of 2025. "If this happens, it will be a solution (to land conversion)," said Nusron.
