The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (Energi dan Sumber Daya Mineral – “ESDM”) has confirmed that the Draft Regulation of the Government (Rancangan Peraturan Pemerintah – “RPP”) on the National Energy Policy (Kebijakan Energi Nasional – “KEN”) is already on the President’s desk after its approval by the House of Representatives (Dewan Perwakilan Rakyat – “DPR”). The Secretary General (Sekretaris Jenderal – “Sekjen”) of the Ministry of ESDM, Dadan Kusdiana, revealed that the National Energy Council (Dewan Energi Nasional – “DEN”) is working to expedite the ratification by the President.
“KEN has already been approved by the DPR, and Indonesia’s national policy has been approved twice. DEN is currently seeking ways to accelerate the process. So, we will have a national policy,” said Dadan.
To support the new RPP KEN, Dadan confirmed that the Electricity Supply Business Plan (Rencana Usaha Penyediaan Tenaga Listrik – “RUPTL”) is still in the process of being finalized. It is hoped that various regulations, from the highest to the lowest levels, can be completed to provide legal certainty.
