Ministry of Finance is still reviewing the Draft Regulation of the Government on the Demutualization of the Indonesia Stock Exchange (BEI) (“ Draft Regulation ”) as part of the implementation of Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (“ Law 4/2023 ”). Draft Regulation will serve as the basis for regulating technical mechanisms, changes in ownership structure, and more modern exchange governance.
“For the time being, there will be adjustments to what was announced some time ago. While waiting for the discussion process in the House of Representatives (“ DPR ”),” said a source at the Directorate-General of Financial Sector Stability and Development to Hukumonline.
The government targets the Draft Regulation to be issued in the first quarter of 2026. In addition, the government is also preparing other supporting policies for institutional investors, particularly pension fund managers, cut loss mechanism arrangements, including an increase in free float, so that the impact on the depth and liquidity of the capital market is truly optimal.
