The Ministry of Finance is currently preparing a Draft Regulation of the Minister of Finance (“Draft Regulation”) on the amendment to Regulation of the Minister of Finance No. 190/PMK.04/2022 on Release of Imported Goods for Use (“Regulation 190/2022”). This revision aims to update the procedures for the release of imported goods from customs area into free circulation, including goods stored in customs zones.
“It is currently under discussion because the Draft Regulation also regulates the supervision of both tangible and intangible imported goods, such as software and digital products,” said Nirwala Dwi Heryanto, Director of Communications and User Guidance at the Directorate-General of Customs and Excise (“DJBC”) of the Ministry of Finance.
In addition, the mechanism for releasing goods continues to utilize risk management through the designation of customs lanes, namely the Red Lane, which involves physical and document inspections, and the Green Lane, which allows for the release of goods without physical inspection. This includes the submission of the Import Goods Notification (“PIB”), which is conducted electronically through the Computerized Service System (“SKP”).
