The Ministry of Health (Kemenkes) is revising the regulation on the National Health Insurance (Jaminan Kesehatan Nasional– “ JKN ”) tariff scheme. Director General of Advanced Health Services, Azhar Jaya, stated that there is an opportunity to increase tariffs or expand subsidies.
“Whether the tariff changes involve an increase or an expansion of subsidies, we will follow the Ministry of Finance,” Azhar told Hukumonline.
The regulation will be issued once the government completes the revision of Presidential Regulation No. 59 of 2024 on the Third Amendment to Presidential Regulation No. 82 of 2018 on Health Insurance (collectively referred to as “ Perpres 82/2018 ”). The formulation of the JKN tariff will later be aligned with the implementation of Standard Inpatient Class (Kelas Rawat Inap Standar– “ KRIS ”) and the premiums of the Social Security Organizing Agency (Badan Penyelenggara Jaminan Sosial– “ BPJS ”) for Health.
“In principle, it will have an impact. But it does not necessarily mean an increase in tariffs,” Azhar concluded.
