The Ministry of Industry (“Ministry”) supports the idea of regulating Joint Utilization of Transmission Networks (Pemanfaatan Bersama Jaringan Transmisi - “PJBT”) as a solution for fulfilling the clean energy mix in the industrial sector. According to the Head of the Green Industry Center at Ministry, Apit Pria Nugraha, the PBJT scheme can open up broader options for electricity supply to the industrial sector.
“In our opinion, leasing the joint transmission network is the most appropriate solution to meet the clean energy mix needs in the industrial sector,” said Apit.
According to him, the need for clean energy is one of the requirements to attract investor interest. Apit mentioned that currently, investors can request that industrial electricity be sourced 100% from clean energy as an investment condition. The Ministry, according to Apit, is currently conducting a pilot project to implement a minimum of 30% clean energy
“The Ministry plans to conduct a pilot project in certain industrial zones to achieve a minimum of 30% clean energy mix,” he added.
