The Ministry of Trade (Kemendag) encourages the need for Indonesian Standard Industrial Classification (Klasifikasi Baku Lapangan Usaha Indonesia– “ KBLI ”) specifically for the virtual office service sector. This step is considered important to facilitate data collection and supervision of growing number of virtual office service business actors.
Riffa Utama, Junior Trade Analyst Expert at the Domestic Trade Policy Center, stated that most virtual office business actors still use KBLI 68111, which does not specifically represent the business activity of providing virtual address services. This has made it difficult for the government to conduct monitoring.
“It is necessary to establish a specific KBLI for virtual office service businesses to facilitate data collection,” he explained.
Riffa also mentioned that virtual office service providers must report their business activities, including details of customers who use or discontinue their services. The purpose of this reporting is to assist the government in recording the domiciles of companies operating within the virtual office’s service area.
