The Ministry of Trade (“Kemendag”) is currently evaluating the readiness of the infrastructure and regulatory framework for ferroalloy exports through PT Danantara Sumber Daya Indonesia (“PT DSI”). The evaluation is being conducted during the transition period ahead of the implementation of the single-window export policy on January 1, 2027.

Rivai Abbas, Director of Industrial and Mining Product Exports at Kemendag, stated that the evaluation is necessary to assess the effectiveness of the regulations underlying the policy. According to him, the evaluation will also cover the implementation of the provisions under Regulation of the Government No. 24 of 2026 on the Governance of Exports of Strategic Natural Resource Commodities (“PP 24/2026”) and Regulation of the Ministry of Trade No. 17 of 2026 on the Export Policy and Regulations for Strategic Natural Resource Commodities in the Form of Ferroalloys (“Permendag 17/2026”).

“Over the next one to two months, an evaluation will be conducted on the implementation of Government Regulation No. 24 of 2024 and Ministry of Trade Regulation No. 17 of 2026 concerning ferroalloys,” said Rivai.

The evaluation will specifically focus on assessing the readiness of PT DSI, which, under PP 24/2026, has been designated as the sole exporter of strategic commodities, including ferroalloys. Rivai explained that Permendag 17/2026, as the implementing regulation of PP 24/2026, may be revised. The amendments will be made if the existing provisions are deemed insufficient to fully support the technical and infrastructure readiness required for exports under the single-window mechanism.
