The government plans to overhaul the logistics transportation system through the Draft Bill on National Transportation System (“Sistranas”). This regulation will improve the logistics chain from upstream to downstream.
“We are currently discussing Sistranas. The discussions include the national logistics transportation system," said Risal Wasal, Director-General of Transportation Integration and Multimodal Transport at the Ministry of Transportation, to Hukumonline.
The Sistranas Draft Bill serves as the foundation for logistics transportation integration. Improvements in governance and licensing will be regulated within this draft regulation.
This policy ensures the smooth movement of goods from production areas to consumers. The role of the Multimodal Transport Business Entity (“BUAM”) will be strengthened to make logistics and goods delivery simpler and more efficient.
“The key is to ensure ease in shipping logistics goods,” said Risal.
