The Financial Services Authority (“OJK”) will soon finalize the follow-up provisions to Regulation of OJK No. 5 of 2025 on Supporting Professions of Financial Services Sector (“Regulation 5/2025”). Director of Integrated Financial Services Sector Policy at OJK, Wahyu Budi Satriyo, explained that this Draft Circular of OJK (“RSEOJK”) will require all applications to be submitted through OJK's integrated licensing and registration system.

"Progress has reached more than 75 percent. The target is to complete it soon so that it can be effectively implemented in March 2026," Wahyu told Hukumonline.

Broadly speaking, the RSEOJK implements several provisions originally regulated in Regulation 5/2025 by establishing various administrative and reporting obligations for Supporting Professions. These provisions include details on registration procedures, changes in the scope of services, leave, and resignation.

This framework also mandates Supporting Professions to participate in annual professional education and Continuing Professional Education (“PPL”) programs, with minimum Professional Credit Unit (“SKP”) requirements that vary based on profession and sector. Finally, Supporting Professions that are registered with the OJK are also required to submit periodic activity reports.

"The guidance from the Board of Commissioners is that these regulations should be integrated so as not to confuse supporting professions. The regulations must also maintain the role of the OJK as mandated by Law No. 4 of  2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector, namely as a supervisor, not a primary regulator," he explained.
