The Financial Services Authority (“OJK”) is currently accelerating a major transformation in Technological Innovations within the Financial Sector, Digital Financial Assets, and Crypto Assets (“IAKD”) through the preparation of the IAKD Roadmap 2026–2031. The roadmap is expected to address a range of critical issues, including the development of asset tokenization and stablecoins, digital asset taxation policies, enhanced cybersecurity, and the development of a Single Investor Identifier (“SID”) for digital financial assets.
“The focus is on an adaptive, risk-based regulatory framework that ensures certainty in the licensing process, as well as technology-based supervision to support the development of products and domestic talent,” said Adi Budiarso, Chief Executive of OJK’s IAKD Supervision.
OJK is also encouraging the exploration of tokenization of Real World Assets (“RWA”) to strengthen the competitiveness of Micro-, Small-, and Medium Scales Enterprises (UMKM). Potential physical assets for tokenization include rice warehouse receipts, cocoa production, commodity purchase contracts, and regional infrastructure financing.
“The preparation of the OJK IAKD Roadmap 2026–2031 also serves as a follow-up to the amendment to Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (“Law 4/2023”),” he added.
