The Financial Services Authority (“OJK”) is currently preparing a Draft Regulation OJK (“RPOJK”) on Bank Examinations. The preparation of this regulation is driven by the increasing complexity of banking business activities, the rapid digitalization of services, and evolving risk dynamics.
“This RPOJK will strengthen a more proactive and risk-based supervisory approach, while leveraging technology to detect indications of fraud at an early stage,” said Dian Ediana Rae, Chief Executive of Banking Supervision at OJK.
The new regulation will subsequently revoke POJK No. 41/POJK.03/2017 on the Requirements and Procedures for Bank Examinations (“POJK 41/2017”) in order to align with current supervisory practices and the mandate of Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector, as amended by Law No. 4 of 2026. This initiative is intended to support national economic growth and maintain financial system stability through the implementation of bank examinations that are more effective, independent, and accountable.
“It is targeted for completion as soon as possible to enhance the focus on the supervision of individual banks,” he added.
