OJK Updates Provisons on Financial Soundness Level of Insurance in 2025.

The Financial Services Authority (Otoritas Jasa Keuangan– “ OJK ”) is preparing a number of new regulations to accelerate the transformation process of the Insurance, Pension Fund, and Guarantee sectors (Perasuransian, Dana Pensiun dan Penjaminan– “ PPDP ”). The Deputy Commissioner for the Supervision of Insurance, Guarantee, and Pension Funds at OJK, Iwan Pasila, revealed that there are 7 OJK Regulations (PeraturanOJK– “ POJK ”) and 9 OJK Circulars (Surat EdaranOJK –“ SEOJK ”) that have entered the finalization stage.

“This year, there are several important regulations that are in the finalization stage, including POJK on Financial Soundness of Insurance and SEOJK on Health Insurance," said Iwan during the PPDP Regulatory Dissemination Day 2025 event.

According to him, the OJK is also continuously working to simplify the application process and utilization of insurance products as mandated by Law No. 4 of 2023 on the Development and Strengthening of the Financial Sector (“ P2SK Law ”). This aims to improve the health insurance ecosystem in Indonesia by ensuring better service standards and maximum protection for customers.

This improvement includes efforts to enhance efficiency in service processes, as well as better risk mitigation in health insurance management. “So just wait. Because we really want to improve the ecosystem,” he concluded.
