The National Energy Council (Dewan Energi Nasional – “DEN”) evealed the potential for implementing the Domestic Component Level (Tingkat Komponen Dalam Negeri – “TKDN”) percentage for Nuclear Power Plants (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Nuklir – “PLTN”). According to DEN Member, Agus Puji Prasetyono, the potential for implementing TKDN for PLTN is 30 percent.

“Currently, it’s probably around 30%,” Agus told Hukumonline.

According to Agus, this figure can be applied to non-nuclear parts of the power plant. The application of TKDN may be applied to other systems such as pipes, compressors and other non-nuclear parts that can be produced domestically.

“Regarding parts of the PLTN, for example, those that can be 100% made domestically, are made domestically. If 100% cannot be made, because this is high technology, it must be imported,” he added.

Regarding the regulatory framework regarding the potential TKDN for PLTN, Agus ensured that this is the task of the Nuclear Energy Program Implementation Organization (“NEPIO”) which will be formed in the near future.
