National General Electricity Plan (Rencana Umum Ketenagalistrikan Nasional– “ RUKN ”) for 2025-2060, established by Decree of the Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources No. 314.K/TL.01/MEM.L/2024 on RUKN (“ Kepmen 314/2024 ”), is officially re-discussed to seek input from the Indonesia’s House of Representatives (“ DPR ”).
The Director General of New, Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (“ Dirjen EBTKE ”) of the Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ Kementerian ESDM ”), Eniya Listiani Dewi, stated that the RUKN published in November last year has been adjusted to the programs and vision-mission of President Prabowo Subianto. Specifically, to achieve the target of 8% economic growth.
“So the RUKN that was discussed has projected (economic growth) up to 8%,” said Eniya.
Eniya explained, the change lies in the lowest assumption of economic growth, which was at 6.5%, now becoming a minimum of 8%. This change places RUKN at the highest focus in achieving that growth target.
Nevertheless, Eniya confirmed that there will be no significant changes to the RUKN that will be ratified at the next meeting with the DPR. “We explained it and the DPR has agreed. It just needs to be ratified at the next working meeting,” she said.
