Points of Proposal in the Drafting of the Cybersecurity Bill

The government has begun discussing the conception of the Draft Law on Cybersecurity and Resilience. This regulation is included in the 2025-2029 National Legislation Program.

"This Draft Law is a national priority. We must work hard to complete it. Fortunately, the National Cyber and Crypto Agency (BSSN) has also prepared the necessary materials," a government source told hukumonline.com.

Two proposals submitted in the drafting process include the state's involvement in the event of an attack on the national data center and efforts to take action against suspected perpetrators located abroad.

"We are formulating binding norms for any foreign party since the cyber operations are conducted in Indonesia. This is known as extraterritorial jurisdiction," the source continued.
