The Ministry of Creative Economy (Kemenekraf) is currently finalizing the Draft Presidential Regulation on the Creative Economy Master Plan (“Rindekraf”) for 2026–2045. This policy will incorporate artificial intelligence (“AI”), Web3, blockchain, and content creator professions as official subsectors of the creative economy.
“The harmonization process of the Draft Presidential Regulation has completed and is currently awaiting the President’s ratification,” stated Yuana Rochma Astuti, Director of Digital Content at Kemenekraf, to Hukumonline.
The expansion of the creative economy subsectors is intended to align with technological developments and industry trends, such as AI, blockchain, the Internet of Things (IoT), Web3, Big Data, and Cybersecurity, as well as digital content subsectors including voice-over, affiliates, and live commerce, which were previously not included within the four primary sectors for creative economy development under Presidential Regulation No. 142 of 2018 on the Master Plan for National Creative Economy Development 2008–2025 (“Perpres 142/2018”).
