Secretary-General of the Central Executive Board ((“DPP”) of Real Estate Indonesia (“REI”), Raymond Ardan Arfandy stated that the property sector is currently slowing down due to underdeveloped investment. He proposed a concept to revive the property sector.
"One of the stimuli to revive the property investment sector is the provision of tax amnesty. The government could implement a new concept combining both,” he told Hukumonline.
The concept he proposed is “Investasi Merah Putih 08,” which involves eight investment items as the basis for applying for tax amnesty, one of which is property purchase. Raymond believes this idea will be an attractive incentive to reignite investors’ interest in investing in the property sector.
Investors who invest will receive a “red carpet” to enjoy tax amnesty facilities, thereby encouraging capital inflows into the property sector. The state benefits as it receives revenue from tax amnesty.
