The government is drafting the fourth revision of Regulation of the President No. 82 of 2018 on Health Insurance, as amended several times, most recently by Regulation of the President No. 59 of 2024 tentang Jaminan Kesehatan (collectively referred to as “Regulation 82/2018”). One of the changes relates to the Standard Inpatient Care Class (“KRIS”) system.
“There are several substantial changes, including KRIS. It needs to be decided by the President,” said Director-General of Advanced Health Services, Azhar Jaya, to Hukumonline.
According to him, discussions on the implementation of KRIS are not yet final. The Ministry of Health (“Kemenkes”) has proposed eliminating the Social Security Agency (“BPJS”) for Health, with a single tariff.
Secretary-General of the Indonesian Private Hospitals Association (“ARSSI”), Noor Arida Sofiana, requested that the government involve her organization in the revision of the Regulation of the President on Health Insurance. “So that we know how to formulate our strategic plan for 2026,” she said.
