Revision of Regulation of the Government Number 24 of 2021 on the Amount of Forestry Fines

The Ministry of Forestry is reviewing a revision of Regulation of the Government No. 24 of 2021 on Procedures for the Imposition of Administrative Sanctions and Procedures for Non-Tax State Revenue (Penerimaan Negara Bukan Pajak– “ PNBP ”) Originating from Administrative Fines in the Forestry Sector (“ Regulation 24/2021 ”).

Director-General of Forestry Planology of the Ministry of Forestry, Ade Triaji Kusumah, said to Hukumonline that the changes are made to adjust to current conditions.

"Based on recent developments, such as public needs, several activities need to be updated. One of them relates to the amount of fines," he said.

The latest calculations of fine and other formulations will involve the Financial and Development Supervisory Agency (BPKP), the Attorney General's Office, and the National Police. It is not yet certain when the drafting will be completed, but Ade claims it is currently still in the harmonization stage.
