Revision of Regulation of the Government on RTRWN Enters Presidential Initiative Permit

The Ministry of Agrarian Affairs and Spatial Planning/National Land Agency ("ATR/BPN") is currently finalizing revisions to Regulation of the Government No. 13 of 2017 on the Amendment to Regulation of the Government No. 26 of 2008 on National Spatial Planning ("RTRWN") (“Regulation 13/2017”). Director-General of Spatial Planning at the Ministry of ATR/BPN, Suyus Windayana, stated that the revision process is awaiting presidential approval.

“We are currently drafting the revision of the RTRWN and awaiting Presidential initiative permit,” said Suyus.

According to Suyus, the purpose of revising the RTRWN is to accommodate the Asta Cita, which aims to achieve self-sufficiency in food, energy, water, electricity, and food independence. The policy direction is to identify potential zones for food development, including food crops and fish estates, as well as identifying Food Production Centers (Kawasan Sentra Produksi Pangan/KSPP) as National Strategic Areas.

“The revision of the RTRWN is related to spatial patterns and structures that support the sustainable and integrated development of food production zones,” he added.
