Draft Regulation of the Government (RPP) on the Organization of Spatial Planning introduces provisions that facilitate amendment to Spatial Plan (Rencana Tata Ruang– “ RTR ”) or Detailed Spatial Plan (Rencana Detail Tata Ruang – “ RDTR” ). This forms part of the revision of Regulation of the Government No. 21 of 2021 on the Organization of Spatial Planning (“ PP 21/2021 ”).
“What many parties have been waiting for is the allowance for partial revisions to the RTR/RDTR, which can be carried out before the five-year review period,” said Djuang Fadjar Sodikin, Deputy Assistant for the Organization of Spatial Planning and Agrarian, in an interview with Hukumonline.
Under this regulation, spatial planning documents may be revised without having to wait for the routine five-year review schedule. This aims to accelerate the investment licensing process while also supporting national development and economic programs.
“Yes, indeed, one of the objectives is to accelerate investment,” he said.
