Second NDC Completed in September for Immediate Submission to UNFCCC

The Ministry of Environment (“Ministry”) is making sure that the Second Nationally Determined Contributions (“Second NDC”) soon to be completed. Deputy for Climate Change Control and Carbon Economy Governance of the Ministry Ary Sudijanto said that they have prepared a letter from the Minister of Environment to the President to speed things up.

He hopes that the Second NDC document will be completed before 20 September 2025, so that it can be submitted to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (“UNFCCC”).

“I have submitted the draft letter from the Minister to the President, and we hope to submit it before 20 September,” he told Hukumonline.

Ary explained that the Second NDC document will be aligned with existing regulations, such as the National Medium-Term Development Plan (RPJMN) for 2025–2029, the National Long-Term Development Plan (RPJPN), the Electricity Supply Business Plan (RUPTL), the National Energy Policy Draft (RPP KEN), and the National Energy General Plan (RUEN).
