State Secretariat Accelerates the Issuance of Presidential and Government Regulations for Implementation of KUHAP

The Ministry of State Secretariat (Kemensetneg) is finalizing draft government regulations as well as presidential regulations following the enactment of Law No. 20 of 2025 on the Criminal Procedure Code (Kitab Undang-Undang Hukum Acara Pidana– “ KUHAP ”). These implementing regulations are expected to be issued soon.

“We are expediting the drafting of its implementing regulations. We are accelerating the process so they can be completed as soon as possible,” said Prasetyo Hadi, Minister of State Secretary (Mensesneg).

There are two Draft Government Regulations under the KUHAP, namely those concerning the implementation and mechanism of restorative justice. In addition, there is a Draft Presidential Regulation on an Information Technology–Based Criminal Justice System, which constitutes an effort to modernize the national criminal justice system.
