The Ministry of Energy and Mineral Resources (“ESDM”) has changed its plan to regulate the utilization of new renewable energy power plants with batteries or hybrid electricity schemes through a Regulation of the President. Previously, it was planned to be regulated through a Regulation of the Minister.
Director-General of Renewable Energy and Energy Conservation (Energi Terbarukan dan Konservasi Energi - “EBTKE”), Eniya Listiani Dewi stated that the regulation will be included in the revision of Regulation of the President No. 112 of 2022 on the Acceleration of the Development of Renewable Energy for the Supply of Electrical Power (“Regulation 112/2022”).
“This has been removed entirely to be included in the revision of Regulation 112/2022,” said Eniya.
Eniya said the changes to the regulation plan are intended to support the Merah Putih Village Cooperative program. The regulation will cover solar power plant (Pembangkit Listrik Tenaga Surya - “PLTS”) schemes and incentives to encourage electricity supply schemes using batteries.
“The incentive model will be specified later. It is still being discussed,” she explained.
