The Ministry of Industry (“ Kemenperin ”) will soon finalize the drafting of Regulation of the Minister as a derivative of Regulation of the President No. 16 of 2025 (“ Perpres 16/2025 ”) on the Indonesian Sustainable Palm Oil (“ ISPO ”) Certification System. This forthcoming regulation will govern the sustainable traceability system for the palm oil downstream industry and its supply chain.
The Director General of Agro Industry of Kemenperin, Putu Juli Ardika, confirmed that the drafting of the regulation will soon enter the harmonization process. “Hopefully, it will be harmonized in the near future and can be implemented shortly thereafter,” said Putu.
Putu explained that the scope of the regulation will cover aspects of sustainable traceability in the palm oil downstream industry and palm oil–based bioenergy. The sustainability principles in the palm oil industry include compliance with applicable laws and regulations through the fulfillment of business legality by business actors in the backward-forward linkage supply chain industry, traceability, and sustainable business improvement.
