The Indonesian Express Delivery Service Association (Asosiasi Perusahaan Jasa Pengiriman Ekspres Indonesia - “ASPERINDO”) is pushing for the appointment or establishment of a special agency to oversee all regulations related to the delivery service business in Indonesia.
According to the Chair of ASPERINDO Mohammad Feriadi Soeprapto, there is currently a lack of synchronization between regulations and licensing for delivery services under the Ministry of Communication and Digital Affairs (Kementerian Komunikasi dan Digital - “Komdigi”) and the Ministry of Transportation (Kementerian Perhubungan - “Kemenhub”).
“Some operators have permits from Komdigi, while others have licenses from Kemenhub, but their activities are the same. This creates confusion because we cannot communicate with those whose permits are from different ministries,” Feriadi told Hukumonline.
Feriadi revealed that he has discussed the matter with relevant ministries/agencies regarding the feedback. He hopes the government will soon implement policies to harmonize regulations in the logistics services sector.
“We have already conveyed this to the government on several occasions,” he explained.
